It’s vital that any organisation takes its first aid responsibilities seriously. Accidents can happen in any situation, but some industries and businesses can be at higher risk of workplace injuries and incidents. In this First Aid at Work training course, learners will be taught the knowledge, skill & confidence to administer basic first aid in a range of situations and for common workplace injuries.


The Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification is suited for most businesses, particularly those with large numbers of employees or high-risk environments e.g. construction site or factories factories. It aims to provide the knowledge, skill & confidence to administer first aid for a range of situations and provide a safe working environment when faced with greater risks and conditions. It’s recognised by the HSE and will ensure you meet your first aid training requirements as set out in The Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.


This First Aid at Work Training Course is valid for 3 years upon completion and is available for learners over 16 years old. We can deliver our training courses across Sussex, Surrey, London, Oxfordshire and the South East.

This level 3 First Aid at Work training course will cover the following core elements:


  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of a first aider: Learn what a trained first aider can and should do in a given situation.
  • Assess an emergency situation: Learn how to assess a first aid situation in order to give the appropriate assistance and help ensure the best outcome.
  • Manage unresponsive casualties (inc CPR): Learn how to provide first aid to unresponsive casualties, including how to administer CPR should it be required.
  • Recognise and assist a choking casualty: Choking can kill. delegates will understand how to recognise the signs of choking and how to assist a choking casualty.
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with external bleeding: From minor cuts and abrasions to significant bleeding, you will learn how to administer first aid and apply dressings to a patient.
  • Manage catastrophic bleeding: Learners will understand who to confidently administer first aid to and manage casualties with catastrophic bleeding.
  • Manage a casualty who is in shock: Shock can kill. Learn how to quickly spot the symptoms of shock in a casualty and administer first aid.
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with burns: From minor scalds to major burns, learn what to do to provide effective first aid to a burn casualty.
  • Administer first aid for a casualty with various injuries: Workplaces can see a variety of injuries. Learners will understand how to provide first aid for all common workplace injuries.
  • Administer first aid for a casualty with eye injuries: Learn how to effectively administer first aid for a variety of eye injuries.
  • Administer first aid for a casualty with sudden poisoning: Learn how to spot the signs and deal with casualties with suspected sudden poisoning. 
  • Administer first aid for a casualty with anaphylaxis: Identify and react to the signs of anaphylaxis in a casualty.
  • Administer first aid for a casualty with asthma: Understand how to provide effective first aid to a casualty with asthma.
  • Administer first aid for a casualty with a major illness: Understand the signs and symptoms of various major illnesses, and how to effectively respond.

  • How long is your first aid at work training course?
    This first aid at work training is completed in 3 days and will take around 18 hours in total. Our trainers will come to your office on the day, all you need to do is turn up ready to learn!

  • How many people can attend this First Aid at Work course?
    We can tailor any training course to your organisation’s needs, including the number of attendees. However, there is a maximum number of 12 people per qualified trainer. If you have larger groups we can accommodate this with extra trainers. Get in touch to discuss your needs. 

  • What clothes should I wear for this first aid course?
    Our First Aid at Work Training is a practical course so we recommend wearing clothes and footwear that are comfy and easy to move around in.

  • What is the difference between first aid and emergency first aid training?
    Although similar, this course is much more in-depth than our emergency first aid at work training. It lasts for 3 days instead of 1 and covers a much wider range of topics and workplace situations. If you’re not sure which one is best for you, don’t hesitate to contact us.

  • What is expected of staff with first aid training?
